Quick installation

 

Hostname issue

The server may not start properly due to a hostname issue.

For example your hostname is:

#hostname
myhost-test.com

In such an instance, you need to add the hostname to /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost myhost-test.com

Here we describe the installation process step by step.

Environment

1. You should have the latest Centos 6.4 x8664 installed.

2.  Your hardware or virtual server is connected to the Internet and has a static external IP address.

Installation

1. Download and install latest JDK update

1.1. You can get the latest JDK archive here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

1.2. Unpack this archive using $tar -xvzf ARCHIVE_NAME command

1.3. Move result directory jdk7 to /usr/java/jdk7

1.4. Create symlink $ln -sf /usr/java/jdk7 /usr/java/default

1.5. Create symlink for Java programm $ln -sf /usr/java/default/bin/java /usr/bin/java

1.6. Check your Java installation using java -version command

[root@T16 ~]# java -version
java version "1.7.0_40"

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.0-b56, mixed mode)java -version

2. Download and install the latest Flashphoner WCS server

2.1. You can get the latest FlashphonerWebCallServer from the Downloads page

2.2. Unzip archive with FlashphonerWebCallServer using $tar -xvzf ARCHIVE_NAME command

2.3. Permit install.sh script execution using $chmod +x install.sh

2.4. Run install.sh: ./install.sh

2.5. Enter ip and ip_local during installation: 88.198.239.167 (for example) and press ENTER

2.6. Complete the installation and check /usr/local/FlashphonerWebCallServer/conf/flashphoner.properties file

It should contain valid ip and ip_local properties

2.7 Activate FlashphonerWebCallServer, you can find corresponding documents here

2.8. Start Flashphoner using /usr/local/FlashphonerWebCallServer/bin/startup.sh script

2.9. Check logs and make sure the Flashphoner server is running, using the command tail -f /usr/local/FlashphonerWebCallServer/logs/flashphoner.log

3. Download and install Flashphoner-client

3.1. Download the archive with the latest Flashphoner-client from the Downloads page

3.2. Unzip it using the $tar -xvzf ARCHIVE_NAME command

3.3. Move the result directory to your web-server directory, For example /var/www/html/WCS_client

3.4. Edit flashphoner.xml file and set the URL of your installed Flashphoner-server. 

<wcs_server>88.198.239.167</wcs_server>

3.5. Make sure flashphoner.xml is correct by opening it in your browser.

3.6. Open WCS_client/PhoneJS.html in your browser and try to make a call.

Server Update

Follow the 2.1 - 2.4 installation steps to update the Flashphoner server to the newest version

Follow the 3.1-3.6 installation steps to update client
